Audrey sighed as she started shutting down her computer. Somehow she had ended up working quite late. The work she was doing wasn’t all that urgent but she had got on a roll and by the time she had reached a good stopping point it had been well past what was the ‘standard’ end of her work day.

As Audrey packed up her workspace and organised her bag to head off, she thought about what she would do when she got home. Even though it made her feel guilty she thought it was a littIe too late for her to go to the gym. She also wasn’t in the mood to cook dinner so she thought that she would pick up some food on the way home. She could then sit in front of the television and watch something fun that didn’t require her full attention.

On her walk out to the elevators the office was empty, it looked like she had been the last person in the office. She then saw that there was an office with the lights still on. The office belonged to Simon and Audrey was curious about what could have kept him at the office this late. She realised that she hadn’t seen him throughout the day and thought that he must have been in meetings all day and was catching up on important tasks or perhaps he was just flat out busy.

When she was outside his office, Audrey saw that Simon was focused on his computer monitors and was typing rapidly. She would have walked on by but he noticed the movement in the side of his vision and turned his head, meeting her eyes. Simon smiled at her and Audrey found herself smiling back, then stopping and opening the door. He turned his chair around to face her properly, taking his hands away from his keyboard.

“Hey Audrey, how come you’re here so late?”

Audrey raised an eyebrow and laughed. “The same reason as you I’m guessing. I just had some work I wanted to get done.”

“Fair enough. Was there something that was giving you a problem?”

“Not really. I was just making sure that I keep on top of everything.”

Simon nodded and took a quick glance back at his monitors before grimacing. “In my case I’ve got a looming deadline.”

It was a curious thing for Simon to not have a matter under control, he rarely if ever had to race to meet a deadline. Audrey furrowed her brow. Simon saw her expression and began to give her the background of the work he was doing.

“Yesterday I got an email from Michael asking me to take on one of Daniel’s matters that needed urgent attention that can’t wait until he’s back from vacation.

There has been a development in the client’s matter that involves a third party and we needed to file applications for injunctions and recovery orders as soon as possible. We also need to amend our pleadings and try to get the current proceedings fast tracked.”

Audrey winced in sympathy.

Simon grinned sardonically. “Yeah. If that wasn’t bad enough, apparently there wasn’t anyone free to help me.”

Audrey frowned. That was a rough break. Simon was hard working and diligent so it made sense that he would be given urgent work. Even though he could handle the work, it was still unfair that he was expected to take care of a matter like this without any assistance, forcing him to have to work long hours.

A few years ago when Audrey had first started working at the firm, Simon had acted as a sort of buddy/mentor to her. Whenever she had needed help or advice, he was the first person she went to. Even now she would go ask Simon for his opinion on how to approach some issues. Despite how late it was, Audrey wanted to help him in return for all that he had done to assist her.

“That’s not cool. Is there anything I can help you with? Maybe we could split up what needs to be done between us.”

Simon smiled with gratitude but shook his head. “Thanks. I really appreciate the offer but it’s too late at this point. I would have to give you an explanation of all the relevant details and problems. Unfortunately with the amount of time it would take to get you up to speed, it would be quicker to just take care of it myself.”

She felt bad but Simon was likely right, she wouldn’t really be able to help. She became aware that by talking with him, she might be causing him to have to stay back even later.

“I should get going. I don’t want to hold you up. Try to not stay too late.”

Simon nodded. “I’m getting close to the limit of my concentration so I probably won’t stay for much longer. I’ve gotten a lot done already so I’m not too worried that I’m going to run out of time.”

“That’s good to hear. Take care Simon, I’ll see you tomorrow.”

“See you Audrey.”

As Audrey closed his office door, Simon waved goodbye and then turned back to his computer. Audrey continued on to the elevators, feeling sympathetic stress regarding Simon’s situation and looking forward even more to getting home and relaxing.

The following morning as Audrey walked through the office she found that Simon was already hard at work. At first she was worried that he might have not gone home at all but she noticed that he was Eryaman Rus Escort wearing a different shirt. Still the fact that he had left the office after her and was back before her was bad enough.

Audrey would have stopped to talk to him but he looked deeply engrossed in his work and she didn’t want to interrupt him. She had her own experiences of her concentration being broken by someone dropping by to talk and she wasn’t about to do that to Simon. Wishing him a problem free day in her mind, Audrey continued on to her own office.

Audrey’s day turned out to be a frustrating one. After a relatively straightforward early morning, Audrey’s supervising manager Ryan called her into his office to discuss a draft letter of advice she had sent him a few days ago. While he praised what she had done, there were a lot of changes required to be made. It wasn’t any fault of Audrey’s though. Ryan had been in a telephone discussion with the client the advice was for and they provided further information on the matter that almost completely changed how the issue should be dealt with. On top of that, the client was looking for advice on other somewhat related issues.

Audrey wasn’t pleased with the prospect of having to completely rewrite the advice but there wasn’t anything she could do about it. The real problem was that Ryan had promised the client that the redone advice would be sent out to them by the end of the week. That meant Audrey would have to get the work done today so that Ryan would have time to review it and suggest any further changes before it was sent out to the client. When she heard about the tight time frame a spike of annoyance ran through her at Ryan failing to ask her about her workload before making the promise to the client. She didn’t let Ryan see that she was annoyed though, there was no point, it wouldn’t change what she had to do.

As Audrey began working on revising the advice to the client she was interrupted by her co-worker Lisa who needed some help with a matter she was involved with. Once she had finished helping Lisa, Audrey tried to get back on to rewriting the advice but had some problems with determining how to address the issues. It also didn’t help that she received a number of emails that required her attention and broke her focus.

Around midday Audrey’s work friend Delaney came by and convinced her to take a break to go out and get some lunch. While Audrey was initially reluctant, Delaney was able sway her by saying that the break would help clear her mind and she could come back and make a fresh start. The break did help Audrey a lot, when she got back to work she was able to really immerse herself into the task. There was a lot to do but it seemed possible to get it done.

It was fairly late when Audrey was able to finish the draft of the revised advice and send it back to Ryan for review. Packing up to head home, Audrey decided that she needed to go to the gym that night. After being stuck sitting in front of a computer for most of the day she felt the need to do something active. Audrey looked after herself and was in good shape but she didn’t trust that would remain the case if she didn’t make an effort to get some exercise. She had found that going to gym was particularly good for days when work got her stressed or she needed to deal with some frustration or another.

On her way out she saw that Simon was still at work as well. With how her day had gone, she had even more sympathy for what he was dealing with. Once she was outside his office she saw that he was currently idle, just looking at his computer monitors. He was probably proofreading his work and checking it was right. She briefly debated whether she should bother him but she felt the need to check how he was doing.

Audrey knocked on the glass and he looked around, smiling when he saw it was her. He then gestured for her to come in. She went into his office and took a seat on the spare chair in his office. Up close Audrey could see Simon appeared a touch weary but was in good spirits.

“Hey Audrey, funny seeing you here at this time of night. How was your day?”

Audrey first returned his smile and then sighed dramatically. “I’ve had better. I think I caught some bad luck from you.”

Simon furrowed his brow, looking a littIe worried. “What happened?”

“I got asked to practically redo a letter of advice from scratch and expand it for other things the client wants advice on.”

“And I’m guessing ‘someone’ promised the client that we’d get the advice to them in a couple of days.” Simon raised an eyebrow and the corner of his mouth quirked into a grin.

Audrey rolled her eyes. “Of course.”

“Some people have completely forgotten what it’s like to do the actual work.”

They both laughed. Audrey felt a bit better after hearing Simon validate her frustration with Ryan, she then asked Simon about how his day had gone.

“How are you going with your work? Still Sincan Rus Escort have a lot to get through?”

He nodded. “Yeah, but I’ve managed to get the really time critical stuff out of the way. I’m currently looking at what amendments need to be made to the pleadings. There’s a bit more leeway on timing there so there’s no need to stay back even later tonight.” He let out a loud sigh. “Thank God.”

Audrey smiled, pleased that Simon appeared to have everything under control. “That’s great, though it’s pretty shitty you’re getting work like this shoved onto your plate.”

Simon shrugged. “Until you get high enough up on the ladder like Ryan, you can still get stuck with the crappy jobs. In a way it’s a sign that the higher ups recognise I’m competent. The Partners like to see how people deal with stressful situations and those that can cope and perform well get ahead.”

He shot her a look that conveyed a trace of concern. “How have you been managing with your workload? Is there anything in general that is giving you a hard time?”

Audrey found it touching that he was so interested in how she was doing. “No. I think I’ve been doing well. I haven’t felt overwhelmed. The only real issues I’ve had came from dealing with difficult people.”

Simon nodded knowingly. “Yeah, that can really get on your nerves. There have been a few people I’ve encountered that can ruin a day with a phone call or visit.” He then grinned wryly. “They were so bad that I learned to appreciate that being thoughtless isn’t anywhere as infuriating as deliberate assholes.”

Audrey smiled. “I guess, but in the moment it can be just as stressful.”

“Fair enough, do you have anything you like to do when you’re getting stressed or frustrated?”

“I like to exercise. You know, try and clear my mind by working out. Getting tired out also helps with getting to sleep as well. In fact I was thinking of going to the gym tonight.”

“That sounds good. I haven’t been to the gym in a while myself. I need to join up again, I gave up my membership since I wasn’t using it during a period when I was really busy.”

Audrey cast a critical eye over Simon’s body. He was slim despite the sedentary nature of their work. If Simon didn’t go to the gym he either had a great metabolism or he got his exercise in other ways.

“How about you? What do you do to clear your mind after a rough day at work?”

Simon thought for a second. “Other than going out for a drink with friends every now and then, I don’t do anything special. In my down time I do a lot of reading or watching TV.”

“That’s good but unless you’re venting to your friends, it doesn’t sound like it would help much if you get stressed”

“I don’t think I get all that stressed.” Simon gestured toward his computer monitors. “This job has been a frustration but I haven’t felt like it has affected me too much.”

Audrey didn’t fully accept that. While Simon always projected a laid back and calm demeanour she could recall a few times where there was definitely a sense that he was fraying at the edges. His current work might not be stressing him that much but it was wearing him down. At the moment it looked like he could use something to perk him up.

Simon was silent for a moment, a wide smile appeared on his face and he laughed while shaking his head slightly. Audrey watched him, amused and curious.

“What were you thinking about?”

Simon shook his head a little harder. “Don’t worry about it, it’s not a great story.”

“Come on! It can’t be that bad if it made you laugh.”

“It’s kind of stupid and I don’t think it reflects well on the firm.”

Audrey’s eyebrows rose. “Well now you have to tell me. If it’s really bad I promise I won’t share it with anyone else, not even Delaney.” She could see that Simon was wavering. “Please?”

“Fine, but you’re really not going to be impressed. I was out having drinks with some of the guys from the office. I’m not going to name any of them, okay?” When Audrey nodded, Simon continued.

“So we’re drinking and talking crap and the topic of conversation somehow turns to the things we each do to get through the day. One of the guys outright tells everyone that at least once a day he goes to the bathrooms and jerks off. I was shocked and I thought that everyone else would be as well. Only a couple of the other guys nod and say that they’ve jerked off at work too. When someone asked them why they would jerk off at work, they said it was either to help them destress or just that they were horny and needed to get off so that they could focus on work.”

For Audrey the thought of guys jerking off at work, was initially appalling but then became somewhat amusing. Simon was watching her reaction closely, she smiled and shook her head. “Wow. That really wasn’t something I wanted to know.”

He smirked. “I did warn you.”

“I bet the guys who are jerking off are from Mergers and Acquisitions. Those Etlik Rus Escort guys can be real assholes.”

Simon simply smiled and shrugged. “I’m not saying I approve of what they’re doing but at least they’re discreet. If they hadn’t admitted to it I would never have suspected it.”

The more Audrey thought about it, the less it seemed that objectionable. Audrey could appreciate how getting horny could be a distraction. Occasionally, she had felt horny while at work herself but she would never consider going to the bathroom to masturbate.

Audrey shrugged. “I guess. But it’s still an odd thing to do. And what am I to think about a bunch of guys being so horny at work that they feel the need to relieve it.”

“Personally, I try to not think about it. As for doing it to destress, I know that it’s helpful to keep a calm head but there has to be a better way for them to go about it. Something that wouldn’t cause issues if it became known in the office.”

He was sounding a touch judgemental though he mostly came across as exasperated and amused. Audrey wondered whether he was genuinely that disapproving of anything involved with sex at work. The thought of Simon being an uptight prude made Audrey smile and she couldn’t help joking around with him a bit.

“You haven’t ever gotten a little horny at work and wanted to release some tension?”

Simon’s eyebrows rose and he shook his head. “What? No.”

“Never? Not even after seeing the revealing outfits a few of the secretaries occasionally wear or Delaney’s tight skirts and trousers?”

Simon shifted in his seat as if squirming with slight discomfort. “I’ll admit that I’ve sometimes been distracted by some of the ladies in the office but I’d never resort to jerking off at work.”

His eyes glanced downward to Audrey’s legs and then immediately shot back up. While her skirt had crept up while she was sitting, it was long enough that she was still modestly covered. It was odd that Simon had bothered looking as he wouldn’t have seen much. All the same, Audrey kind of liked that he had taken a look. She couldn’t recall the last time she had any thoughts about sex or got a horny urge. This discussion about people getting off at work had sparked some interest in her though.

“I’m not saying you would but have you ever been tempted to? You never thought about giving yourself a hand to help yourself relax?” Audrey deliberately adjusted her skirt and saw that Simon noticed. She was laying it on too thick and she burst out laughing.

Simon’s expression showed amusement. “Why are we still talking about jerking off? There are a lot of other ways to unwind that I’d go to before that.”

Another way to unwind suggested itself in Audrey’s mind but she didn’t give voice to it. However Simon kind of got to what she was thinking.

“If only I had a girlfriend. Though I guess she’d be less than impressed with me working late and then dropping by to have sex.” Simon laughed self-deprecatingly.

Audrey was a little surprised at how candid Simon was being. While he was always friendly, he never really talked about his personal life. Since he hadn’t shut the topic down Audrey thought she would pry a bit more.

“How about casual hookups? Do you ever go looking for a one night stand?”

Simon gave her a funny look and Audrey wondered whether he would answer. When he shook his head she thought that he was dismissing the question but he was actually answering. “No. I’ve never done anything like that. I don’t think I have the mindset or self confidence to go pick up a stranger for sex.” He smiled jokingly. “Is that something you’ve tried out? Maybe you can give me some pointers.”

Audrey smiled and shook her head but in her mind her thoughts were racing. She knew how difficult it could be to go out and actually meet someone. Even maintaining a relationship was hard when one or both of the people worked late hours. It occurred to her that if Simon wasn’t getting any action maybe she could help him out.

While Audrey told Simon about her currently non-existent personal life, she mentally grappled with her seemingly out of nowhere idea of doing something with Simon to get him off.

She tried to dismiss the thought, it was grossly inappropriate and completely opposite to the professional image she strived to project. Still, the idea was appealing in a lot of ways. Simon was a great guy, good to talk to and had always been respectful to her. She was comfortable being more herself around him than she was with most of her other colleagues.

It also helped that he was quite good looking. In particular, his dark hair was messy in a way that when combined with his smile made him quite charming. If she did something for Simon to show her appreciation for everything he had done for her, it certainly wouldn’t be a chore.

Crucially, there was also an element that appealed to her own wants. Aside from the excitement of performing some kind of sex act, Audrey found that the risk involved in doing it at work made it more exciting than the act by itself. Based on what time it was and what she had seen of the office on her way out, it didn’t seem like there was anyone else still at work. However she couldn’t be certain and there was the possibility that someone might come back to the office. If she did do something with Simon it would have to be done with urgency.
